Our History

Constellation Philanthropy (formerly the Early Childhood Philanthropist Group) is a relatively young organization formed by prominent Colorado-based philanthropists. The first conversations were held in 2012, with 10 founding members formally coming together in early 2014 to launch the organization. These founding members sought to create a space to educate themselves and their peers about early childhood issues, and find opportunities to make informed investments together. Early childhood is a complex field, and Constellation Philanthropy was envisioned as an on-ramp for individuals to learn more while identifying where their investments could make the biggest impact in improving the lives of children.

The first Investment Forum, where organizations pitch ideas to the group after several rounds of due diligence, was held in late 2014. In the six years since a total of 71 investment opportunities have received funding, with over $6.3 million invested.
